There is a very thin, deliciously frayed line between screaming and laughing. If you ask anyone who knows me, they’ll tell you when it comes to writing and storytelling, my brain operates in two distinct ways: either deeply introspective and emotional, or utter chaotic absurdity. For the longest time, I wondered how to reconcile those two states of being in my writing. How do you write tender, unflinching Sapphic romance—stories rooted in the messy, lesser-explored corners of human connection—while also feeling driven to write about the ghost of your ex who now haunts your house and pulls out the contents of your underwear drawer when you have company over?
From Heartbreak to Hauntings: Why I Write Sapphic Romance with a Twist of Comic Horror.
The answer, it turns out, is comic horror. So I created Stitched Hearts Press as a home for my literary eccentricities. My writing doesn’t come from pristine inspiration, it comes from a vivid, wildly fertile imagination that treats everyday anxiety like an extreme sport.

The Lesser-Explored Corners: Human relationships are rarely just girl meets fiend and ride off into the romantically crumbling Gothic castle. No, rather they are built in the quiet, awkward spaces—the comfortable silences, the shared panic attacks when the experiments explode, the bizarre emotional baggage (and suspicious packing crates) we inherit from past loves, and the strange ways we heal together.
Why Comic Horror? (Or: The Sublime to the Ridiculous)
My fascination with comic horror stems entirely from its philosophy: the universe is vast, terrifying, and deeply absurd. One minute, you are experiencing the sublime terror of falling completely, irrevocably in love—that breathless, chest-tightening realization that someone holds your heart in their hands. (They really should put it back)
